The information contained within Getting Started with Faculty explains the functionality delivered with this CRM and is written for the JICS Administrator or his/her designee. We recommend that you take the necessary time to read Getting Started with Faculty and understand its content to ensure your success with its configuration, installation, and implementation. Since the Advisee Roster portlet accesses selected Student portlets, you may want to read Getting Started with Student also.
If your institution is licensed for CRM Faculty, the following portlets are available for your use:
The Advisee Roster portlet allows you (the advisor) to see a list of your advisees and to view information about a selected advisee. Information about the advisee is available via links to the following Student portlets/screens if the Allow Access global permission is granted to the advisor for the individual portlets:
Student Schedule
Course Schedule
Course History
Unofficial Transcript
Grade Report
GPA Projection
Financial Aid Awards
Financial Aid Document Tracking

Course Needs
The Course Authorization portlet allows you to select a course and students for whom to provide authorization to register for the course even if the student has not met a course requisite (Course and/or Non Course prerequisite, corequisite, prohibited), the course is full, or the student has a schedule conflict. If you have the proper permissions, the Condition Type errors for which you can provide authorization are Capacity, Requisite, and Section Conflict. You can also indicate your preference of criteria when doing a Name Search.
The Faculty Course Control portlet allows faculty members to view and manage data for courses for which they are the instructor. Courses can be accessed for selected terms and divisions.
For
CX Users
In addition to viewing course load, you may also be able to view courses
of other faculty members, depending on the security given to you if you
are associated in some way to those courses.
The Facility Schedules portlet allows you to retrieve a list of rooms and view courses scheduled in those rooms.
The Grade Entry portlet allows you to assign grades to students in courses for which you are responsible. If your institution allows you to do so, you can enter absences and clock hours, enter midterm and/or final grades, and update existing grades for students in your courses. However, it is possible that you may only be able to view grades for students.
