General Information

Counseling at Brevard College provides a confidential and safe, emotional and relational space
for you to show up exactly as you are, share your experience, and identify opportunities for
healing, growth, and change in your life. Counseling can help you navigate many things in life
including difficult experiences, mental illnesses like depression and anxiety, relationship
struggles, gender and sexual identity and expression, substance concerns, and life transitions.
Asking for help takes courage and is a sign of strength. We are here to support you.

Services Offered

  • Individual counseling (students, faculty, staff; at no cost)
  • Group counseling (based on interest/need)
  • Mediation
  • Consultation
  • Mental Health Crisis training
  • Mental Health Awareness training and resources
  • Wellness workshops (conflict engagement, relationships, presence, defense mechanisms, helping
    skills, “users choice”, etc.)

Location and Appointments

  • Counseling services are located upstairs (top floor) in Tornado Alley (Coltrane).
  • Individual sessions are usually scheduled on a weekly basis for 50 minutes each, Monday
    through Friday, from 9 to 4 PM.

  • Counseling services are available in-person and remotely.
  • For crisis or emergency situations after hours or on weekends, contact your Resident
