Description
Physical chemistry is the study and application of techniques and theories of physics to chemical sys- tems. The goal of the course is to understand and interpret the matter to energy relationship betwee the physical and chemical world. Students will study topics including thermodynamic and statistical mechanics, reaction kinetics, chemical equilibrium, quantum chemistry, and spectroscopy. Three hours of lecture and two hours of lab. Prerequisite:
CHE 201, PHY 103 or PHY 104, and MAT 221 or permission of the instructor.
