What do the terms literature, interpretation, meaning, and text really mean? In this advanced course students will learn fundamental concepts of literary theory and apply those concepts to works of literature, with an emphasis on intersectionality and praxis. Selected theories may include structuralism,
deconstruction, Marxism, postcolonialism, critical race theory (CRT), reader-response, historicism, materialism, feminism, ecocriticism, and more. Prerequisite: a 200-level ENG course other than ENG 207.
