This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the principles of Emergency Management. It focuses on the practices and policies of the Emergency Management field. In addition to exploring the history and evolution of the profession, the course will focus on the disaster cycle, including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The student will learn about the relationships between federal, state, and local agencies in a disaster, as well as explore the disaster’s social, political, and economic implications of disasters.
