Description
Primarily a reading and discussion seminar, the course covers historiography, research methods, and various paths of professional development, especially academic history and public history. The goal of this course is to help students develop their own philosophy of history, which they will employ in HIS 402, as well as further develop the knowledge and skills needed for graduate school or post-graduation employment. Prerequisites: at least junior status, and a history major
