This survey course explores the fundamental principles governing behavior and the research methods employed. Areas covered include the brain and behavior; sleep and dreaming; learning and memory; intelligence, thinking and reasoning; behavior in social and cultural contexts; theories of emotion, motivation and personality; and mental disorders and their treatment. Meets General Education Distribution Area III.C (pre-2025), Thinking About Human Behavior; Holistic Wellness Focus Area (2025+).
