Description
Religions hurt and religions heal. Some religious people and institutions actively promote flourishing while others engage in words and deeds that foster hostility and division. This course introduces an array of religiously-freighted issues that exist at the intersection of belief systems and societal challenges
(violence and nonviolence, poverty and equity, racism, gender diversity). The goal of the course is not to advocate for particular positions on any of these issues, but to assist students in considering and articulating more informed and nuanced responses to the questions they raise. Meets General
