Description

This course provides an introduction to the art and science of fly fishing. Students will learn the basic skills and knowledge of the sport, including legal regulations, fly casting, knot tying, fly selection, and reading water to identify fish habitat. Students will also be introduced to basic concepts in aquatic ecosystems, entomology (the study of insects that fish feed on), and ethical and sustainable fishing practices. Meets General Education Distribution Area V.
