Description

This course introduces students to the foundational concepts of artificial intelligence (AI) as they apply to organizations. Students will explore how AI systems work at a practical level, including common AI capabilities and limitations, data and model basics, and how AI can be applied in business functions such as operations, marketing, finance, human resources, and customer service. Emphasis is placed on evaluating AI use cases, communicating AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and identifying common risks related to privacy, bias, transparency, and security. Students will complete applied case studies and hands-on exercises using widely available AI tools to build informed, responsible, and realistic AI literacy for the workplace. Designed for students across disciplines preparing to lead or support AI adoption in organizational settings. Meets General Education Category Analytical Thinking.
