Description
An introduction to the archaeology, art, and architecture of ancient Egypt from the prehistoric cultures of the Nile Valley through the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms through the period of Cleopatra’s rule and Roman domination. Additional topics include the impact of ancient Egyptian art and culture
on western society to the modern day. Students practice skills in analyzing and interpreting original works of art in their cultural and historical contexts. Offered fall semester in even years. Meets General Education Distribution Area III.D.
