Description
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of water resources and society’s use of them. Students will explore issues related to water quantity and quality, the emergence of novel contaminants, and the links between these issues and economic development. The course also examines trade-offs in water governance and strategies for sustainable water management. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary analysis, active learning through case study discussions and field or laboratory projects, and the effective communication of sustainable solutions to contemporary water resource challenges in a changing environment. Meets General Education categories III.D or VI (pre-2025); Intragroup Communication and Environmental Awareness (2025+).
