Description

A study of the major political events and social movements in the United States since World War II. The course examines the Cold War, McCarthyism, the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, student protests of the 1960s, the counterculture movement of the 1970s, the Women’s Movement,
Watergate, the Reagan Revolution, environmental politics, and the rise of a global economy. Film, oral history, and primary sources from the period play major roles in this course. Meets General Education Distribution Area III.A. Note: previously HIS 224.
