Description

ANT 101 Introduction to Anthropology 3 Semester Hours
Students in this class survey the discipline of anthropology, including the subfields of biological anthropology, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology. In this class students experientially apply anthropological concepts and information to examine human evolution, subsistence
patterns, language, economy, kinship, gender, cultural change, and other aspects of culture. Meets General Education Distribution Area III.D.

GEO 101 Physical Geology 4 Semester Hours
Through lecture, laboratory and field experiences, Physical Geology introduces the student to the processes that shape Earth’s surface. After introducing minerals and rocks, the course explores mountain building through plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanism. Sculpting of the surface is addressed through weathering and erosion caused by water, wind, and ice. Three hours of lecture and two hours of lab. Offered every fall. Meets General Educati
