Description

This advanced course in conducting is designed as an extension of the basic conducting course (MUS330). The course covers conducting movements and non-verbal communication, with a significant emphasis on the application of the students’ aural skills to rehearsal and classroom settings. Repertoire
selection, intonation trouble-shooting, score preparation, and editing scores for various ensembles will also be discussed. Students will have extensive time on the podium and may also perform for their fellow student conductors in an ensemble setting. Prerequisite: MUS 330 or permission of the instructor.
