Help

Got something coming up that you need to let people know about?

Here are some tools you can look into that may help:

Digital Signage The Brevard College campus features numerous screens mounted on walls in campus buildings that can be used to promote programs, events and more. Digital signage should be viewed much like a billboard: messaging should be short and imagery should have a clear focal point. To start a digital signage project, please contact the appropriate administrative assistant to assist with the design of digital signage and size specifications. (NOTE: Images for screens should be 1920x1080 pixels in size.)

Google Calendars BC manages several Google calendars for internal use, including events related to Academics, Athletics, Fine Arts and Campus Life. Once it is added to the correct calendar, it will show up on BC Radar (Brevard College's official mobile app), digital signage across campus, and MyBrevard. It will also be published in the weekly newsletter sent to students, faculty and staff. Key administrators are given access for edits: please complete this form for any calendar requests.

BC Radar BC Radar is THE Brevard College app! All Brevard College community members can post on the BC Radar feed anytime, or you can send a notification to a specific audience on campus. Reach out to Campus Life if you want to send a notification via BC Radar.

MyBrevard A secure portal for BC faculty, staff and students, MyBrevard is designed to make it easier for members of the Brevard College community to accomplish tasks and find information. The portal includes an option for banner announcements. Please note that this tool is not usually used to announce events, but rather to share important information such as upcoming academic deadlines, sudden schedule changes, updates to protocols and procedures, or planned disruptions of services. Contact janeiroac@brevard.edu if you need assistance with MyBrevard.

Targeted Emails You can use the campus Gmail system to target specific internal audiences that may have a special interest in the College. For the most precise and efficient use, contact IT to create a custom report, then import email addresses into your contacts to create a targeted email list. The Office of Communications strongly discourages the use of campus-wide email messages for non-essential matters such as publicizing campus events; getting the word out on campus should ideally happen over other communication outlets, like BC Radar (see above). Key administrators may send campus-wide emails for important information on behalf of the College.

This Week Each Monday during the academic year, the Office of Communications produces a campus-wide newsletter to let students, faculty and staff know about the goings on that week. Submissions to the newsletter or Google calendars should be sent no later than 8:00 AM on each Monday in order to be included. Please send submissions to Alecia Janeiro at janeiroac@brevard.edu.
