Our department recognizes that banquets, award presentations, group photos and departmental gatherings are important aspects in the life of the campus community. These opportunities may not always meet the overarching strategic criteria of our services, unless the images/video are deemed appropriate for marketing, recruitment or media relations. The Office of Communications reserves the right to determine if a request is in the best use of the department’s time based on the overall needs of the College.
Most of our photographers are work-study students, which offers an authentic perspective into our campus community. Their work for our department is often one of many interests to which they dedicate time and energy, and we commit to modeling and supporting healthy professional and personal boundaries for everyone.
For the sake of peak efficiency and respect, photographers work with a schedule that is typically planned in advance. It is preferred and appreciated that photo requests be made with at least a two-week notice. We understand that some photographic opportunities may arise on short notice and encourage you to move forward in contacting us, knowing that a photographer may not be able to meet your request because of previous commitments.
Any requests for video projects should be discussed with the Director of Communications at least 2 months in advance.
